Your vehicle has been protected with a professional-grade ceramic coating. Proper maintenance will help preserve its appearance, hydrophobic performance, and protection for years to come.
Washing Frequency
We recommend washing your vehicle approximately every 1–2 weeks, depending on driving conditions and how dirty the vehicle becomes.
Avoid automatic car washes that use brushes. These can introduce scratches and swirl marks into the paint.
Whenever possible, wash the vehicle in a shaded area while the paint is cool to the touch. Avoid washing in direct sunlight, as water and chemicals can dry quickly and leave spotting.
Before Hand Washing
Do not begin hand washing a dirty vehicle without first removing loose dirt, grit, sand, and other particles from the paint.
Before making contact with the vehicle, either
- Thoroughly rinse the vehicle with water or a pressure washer; or
- Apply a snow foam/pre-wash, allow it to dwell without drying, and rinse thoroughly.
For dirtier vehicles, a snow-foam pre-wash is recommended because it helps loosen and remove contamination before your wash mitt touches the paint.
The goal is simple: remove as much loose contamination as possible before physically touching the vehicle.
1. Hand Washing
Use a pH-neutral, ceramic-coating-safe automotive shampoo, preferably without added waxes or gloss enhancers.
Once the vehicle has been properly pre-washed:
- Wash from top to bottom, leaving the dirtiest lower sections until last.
- Use a clean, soft microfiber wash mitt.
- Wash using straight-line motions rather than circles.
- Rinse your wash mitt regularly to prevent accumulated dirt from being dragged across the paint.
A two-bucket wash method is optional; it is not required. The most important steps are properly pre-washing the vehicle and keeping your wash media clean.
2. Rinsing
Once washing is complete, thoroughly rinse the vehicle from top to bottom, making sure all shampoo residue has been removed.
3. Drying
Do not allow the vehicle to simply air-dry, particularly in direct sunlight, as this can contribute to water spotting.
For drying, we recommend either:
- A clean, high-quality microfiber drying towel; or
- A vehicle dryer/blower. A clean leaf blower can also be used for touch-free drying.
When towel drying, use gentle straight-line passes or blot the surface rather than aggressively rubbing the paint.
Between-Wash Maintenance
Small contaminants are much easier to deal with before they have an opportunity to sit and bake onto the coating.
For example, if you notice fresh fingerprints around a door handle, they can be gently wiped away with a clean, soft microfiber towel. A ceramic-safe quick detailer can also be used when additional lubrication is needed.
If you frequently drive on the highway and notice bugs on the front bumper, mirrors, hood, or other surfaces, we recommend rinsing them off as soon as reasonably possible. A quick rinse or pressure-washer rinse when you get home can prevent bug residue from sitting on the coating for days and baking in the sun.
The same principle applies to bird droppings, tree sap, and other contamination: remove or rinse them away as soon as possible rather than allowing them to remain on the surface.
Annual Coating Inspection
Your ceramic coating package includes your first annual coating inspection at no charge.
During this inspection, we will assess the coated surfaces and check that the coating is performing as expected. If we identify anything that requires attention or additional maintenance, we will advise you on the appropriate next steps.
Additional Care Tips
Avoid parking under trees whenever practical, particularly in areas where tree sap or bird droppings are common.
If bird droppings, tree sap, bug residue, or similar contamination gets onto the vehicle, do not leave it sitting on the surface, especially in direct sunlight. Remove or rinse it away as soon as reasonably possible.
